Throwback | Patrick Laudrup Cup : Football Boots : Soccer Bible

As part of a new throwback series we'll be taking a look at some real classic boots of the game, from when boots were nothing more than leather, studs and covered in mud. Kicking off the series is the Patrick Laudrup Cup, released in 1988 and worn by Danish midfield legend Michael Laudrup during his spell at Juventus.

Released 27 years ago as part of Laudrup's signature Patrick collection, the brand was immensely popular in the late 80's before the rise of Nike who had the financial power to compete with adidas forcing Patrick to eventually step away from the game. In their prime Patrick had a strong presence in the kit manufacturer game as well as supplying footwear to many legends of the game including Kevin Keegan, Michel Platini and of course the former Juve, Real Madrid and Barca man Laudrup. Black leather, six studs, job done.
